File Preparation For Printing
We can fix most files easily.
Many of the files we receive are the right size and resolution and print beautifully. Many are not. The two most frequent problems we run into are files that are the wrong size and files that do not have bleed when they need them. Here's what you need to know about bleed. Most of the time we can identify files that will not work and we will contact you so that you can send a revised file that will print correctly. A good rule of thumb is that to print well a file must be 150 lines per inch at size. That means that a 3 inch by 4 inch file at 72 dpi will not print well and it certainly cannot be enlarged to 8 1/2 x 11. We do not charge for simple corrections to make a file print right. More complicated, lengthy fixes are charged at the shop rate of $60/hr and we always get your approval beforehand.
